Product Requirements:
The product is an automotive seat component with embedded metal inserts and internal angled undercut features. There are specific requirements for the location of weld lines, and the mold structure is complex.
Product Overview:
The product material is PP+EPDM-TD20. Product dimensions: 697 × 133 × 152 mm. Wall thickness is 3.5 mm. The mold has a 1+1 cavity configuration.
【Mold Solution:
To meet the weld line requirements, a detailed mold flow analysis was performed before mold manufacturing, determining the precise gate location to ensure balanced filling and that the weld lines meet the requirements. For the positioning of the embedded metal inserts, a special locating structure was designed in the mold to prevent the inserts from shifting during injection molding. To address the internal angled undercuts, the mold was designed with a combination of an internal slide and a lifter (slide + lifter assembly) to enable demolding of the undercut features.
