Product Requirements:
The product is a two‑shot cosmetic part with multiple features requiring side pull mechanisms.
Product Overview:
Material: PC+ABS and TPS. Dimensions: 106 × 365 × 106 mm. The product is a cosmetic part with many internal undercuts, making two‑shot molding difficult. However, due to high production volume, the customer preferred two‑shot injection molding.
Mold Solution:
To meet the product requirements, detailed mold flow analysis was performed before mold manufacturing to determine the precise gate location, ensuring proper part warpage control and appearance. To address the numerous undercut features, the mold adopted a design where cavity‑side slides are placed on the core side, perfectly resolving the two‑shot molding issues for the part.
Result Feedback:
The mold was transferred after the T2 trial, and the customer is very satisfied.
