Product Requirements:
The product is an automotive component with high cosmetic surface requirements. The parting line tolerance must be controlled within 0.03 mm, and there are multiple undercuts on the inner side of the part.
Product Overview:
Material: PP with a glossy surface finish. Dimensions: 50 × 522 × 33 mm. Wall thickness: 1.8 mm. Mold cavitation: 1+1.

Mold Solution:
Due to the multiple undercuts and strict parting line requirements, the mold design incorporates several lifters that interlock with the cavity side and slides. To ensure the step difference (mismatch) is maintained within 0.03 mm, the lifters are made of hardened tool steel with a hardness 2–3 HRC higher than that of the mold inserts. All lifters feature rounded corners, and the corresponding insert surfaces are designed without sharp edges, which not only controls the step difference but also ensures smooth lifter ejection and prevents galling (seizing) during operation. The mold has a 1+1 cavity layout. Prior to mold manufacturing, detailed mold flow analysis was performed to ensure balanced filling and uniform temperature distribution, thereby guaranteeing consistent color appearance across parts.
