Product Requirements:
The product is an automotive component with high cosmetic surface requirements. The parting line tolerance must be controlled within 0.03 mm. There are many ribs on the inner side of the part, and no stress marks are allowed on the cosmetic surface.
Product Overview:
Material: PP+EPDM-TD20. Surface finish: textured. Dimensions: 161 × 203 × 28 mm. Wall thickness: 2.5 mm. Mold cavitation: 1+1.

Mold Solution:
Due to the extremely strict cosmetic surface requirements, the rib width on the inner side of the part was first reduced to one‑third of the wall thickness during mold design, ensuring that no stress marks appeared on the cosmetic surface. To address the parting line tolerance, the cavity and core inserts were machined using high‑speed CNC equipment with on‑machine automatic inspection, ensuring that the profile tolerance of the part was kept within 0.01 mm, thereby achieving a step difference (mismatch) within 0.03 mm. The mold has a 1+1 cavity configuration. Detailed mold flow analysis was performed prior to mold manufacturing to ensure balanced filling and uniform temperature distribution, guaranteeing consistent color appearance.
